This website is a static website. It does not use cookies, analytics, tracking or advertising tools, contact forms, comment functions, external fonts, scripts or embedded content from third parties. All pages, styles and images are delivered from the same server. Personal data is only processed to the extent technically necessary to deliver the website (see sections 3 and 4) and when you contact me by email (section 8).

3. HostingHosting by Cloudflare Pages

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA ("Cloudflare"). Cloudflare delivers the website through its global network and protects it against attacks. To do so, Cloudflare processes the data described in section 4 on my behalf.

A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place: Cloudflare's Data Processing Addendum forms part of its subscription agreement. Personal data may be processed in the USA. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; in addition, the Data Processing Addendum incorporates the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Each time you visit a page, your browser automatically transmits information that is processed by the hosting provider in server log files:

• IP address of the requesting device
• date and time of the request
• requested page or file and the HTTP status code
• amount of data transferred
• referrer URL (the page you came from), if transmitted
• browser type and version, operating system (user agent)

This data is processed to deliver the website, to ensure its stability and security, and to defend against attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is a secure and reliable website. I do not combine this data with other data sources and do not use it to identify visitors. Cloudflare stores log data only for limited periods in line with its retention policies.

I do not use web analytics, tracking pixels, advertising or social media plugins, and no visitor profiles are created.

This website contains links to external websites, for example to the sources of each update, to employers' job postings, to event organisers and to my LinkedIn profile. These are plain links: no data is transmitted to these providers when you load a page here. Only when you click a link does your browser connect to the other website, and its operator's privacy policy applies there.

8. Kontakt per E-MailContact by email

If you contact me by email, I process your email address, the time of the message and the information you provide in order to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (my legitimate interest in answering enquiries) or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your request relates to a contract. I delete the data when it is no longer needed for this purpose, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
